This month, we honor the brave kids who have fought or are currently fighting kidney cancer. Kidney tumors account for about 7% of all childhood cancers. The most common type is Wilms tumor, a rare childhood cancer that primarily affects kids under the age of 5.
Survival rates for Wilms tumor have improved dramatically thanks to research. Still, too many children face long treatments, harsh side effects, and the risk of relapse.
