The showdown we’ve all been waiting for! The 2026 CIF Southern Section Open Division Finals lived up to every bit of the hype as the top two stars in high school basketball, Jerzy Robinson and Kaleena "Special K" Smith, went toe-to-toe at a sold-out Toyota Arena.

In an absolute instant classic, the #5 seed Sierra Canyon pulled off a massive 69-62 upset over the top-seeded Ontario Christian Knights. South Carolina commit Jerzy Robinson proved why she is one of the best in the country, exploding for a game-high 32 points, including a dominant 11-of-15 performance from the free-throw line.

Not to be outdone, the nation’s #1 Junior Kaleena Smith ("Special K") put on a shifty masterclass of her own, dropping 30 points for the Knights. Ontario Christian led 36-30 at the half, but the Trailblazers mounted an incredible 18-6 run in the fourth quarter to secure the title. The "dagger" came late in the fourth when Robinson found Delaney White for a clutch three-pointer to seal the win.
