Sergio Garcia, better known as 2Slimey, is one of the most polarizing names in the underground right now.

The Oklahoma native started making music back in 2014, originally on boom-bap inspired by A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$ and Capital STEEZ. But when the SoundCloud wave hit, he pivoted. By 2021 he was all in, trading traditional rap structure for an ultra-distorted, bass-maxed sound that feels less like “rage” and more like its chaotic evolution.

After building buzz with tracks like “Shrimp,” he doubled down on the blown-out aesthetic with songs like “Serena” and “Pounds N Counters,” helping push what fans now call post-rage alongside artists like Perciatric and Bleood. Everything is turned up. The bass is overwhelming. The autotune is aggressive. It’s intentionally excessive.

His 2024 album High Anxiety expanded his reach even further, even earning an unexpectedly positive Anthony Fantano review for fully committing to the experimentation instead of playing it safe. The deluxe followed quickly, and records like “Legion” and “Belly” have already racked up serious numbers.

Live, he’s built for chaos. Mosh pits, stage divers, full crowd control. A recent Dallas show reportedly had him emotional as the audience echoed every word back. His 2026 UGS Cypher verse only added fuel, pulling over 100K streams in a week and going viral across X.

Nearly a decade in the making, 2Slimey’s rise hasn’t been overnight. Love it or hate it, he’s helping define what rap’s next generation could sound like.
