🏡🦊 Our first Homecoming in over 10 years, and the tradition is here to stay! 

We had a blast this weekend where we saw alumni from the Class of ‘68 all the way through 2025. It was one big Raider Family Reunion filled with spirit, laughter, music, and unforgettable moments.

Many alumni shared how much the campus has evolved, from renovated spaces like Conklin Hall and Dana Library to the growth of student organizations and new traditions. This reflects how far Rutgers–Newark has come and how much it continues to grow, with a #5 national ranking for social mobility and #36 among top public universities (a ranking that continues to climb year after year).

“We have the academic part right and we have the anchor institution part right because we do community-engaged partnerships while we are learning. And this city has a strong history of helping people who don’t have access get access,’’ said Chancellor Tonya Smith-Jackson. “We are in this city for a reason.’’ #InNewarkOfNewark

Smith-Jackson vowed that the homecoming tradition would stay strong, especially since RU-N would be turning 80 next year. “We went more than ten years without one and that’s never going to happen again,’’ she said.

⚽ The day closed with a 5–1 Scarlet Raiders Men’s Soccer victory over NJCU.

❤️ Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, reminisce, and build new memories. The tradition is officially back!!!!
