Former Kidz Bop star Grant Knoche is carving out a new name for himself as an up-and-coming bisexual icon.

Since covering an endless list of top 40 songs with the children’s music group, Knoche has continued his musical career as a pop singer, songwriter and a producer, having produced for the likes of Jess Glynne, Victoria Justice and even Christina Aguilera.

His second solo album, ‘Good Luck Getting Over Me’, was released in October last year. He described it as a “dark, clubby, sexy, sweaty dance space” album in a 23 February interview with Out in Jersey.

As well as working with Kidz Bop, Knoche represented the state of Texas in NBC’s ‘American Song Contest’, a one-off songwriting competition show from 2022 in the vein of Eurovision. He came in fourth place with his song ‘Mr Independent’. Out in Jersey asked Knoche about the reaction to him being an LGBTQ+ Texan.

“I actually wasn’t out at the time, so that wasn’t really part of the conversation yet,” he replied. “But it was interesting being a dark pop artist representing a state that’s so often associated with country music. When people think of Texas, that’s usually the first thing that comes to mind. I thought it was really cool to show that there’s so much more to Texas than people expect.”

Knoche came out publicly with his first single, ‘First Hello’, in 2023, and shared how the reaction from his friends, family and audience meant so much to him.

“Coming out is a huge moment for anyone, and being met with that much love really helped me feel supported during such a vulnerable time,” he said.

“I’ve had so many people message me saying it changed their lives, that they came out to the song, or that it inspired them to fully be themselves, and that honestly makes me so happy. Knowing it’s able to reach and help so many people is incredibly special to me.”
