It’s easy to forget how much fun it is to roller skate on a Saturday night. We need to disconnect, lace up some wheels, and skate around at a nostalgic roller rink while a DJ keeps the music flowing more often.

As a kid I loved going to United Skates of America. My jam was Shout by Tears for Fears. Even today that song brings me right back to Seaford, their yellow postcard invitations, and the Skateasaurus.

One of my favorite parts of living where I grew up is watching my kids enjoy my favorites from the 80s and 90s. unitedskatesli tops that list. Plus, they still offer the best birthday parties around!

We were trying to think outside the box for my daughter’s Sweet 16. I named everything I could think of but all were veto’d. When I mentioned United Skates, her eyebrows shot up. I booked it immediately!

While we rented out the rink for her eighth birthday, her Sweet SKATEen was all about the Saturday night glow-in-the-dark hip hop party.

It was so nice to see these girls skate their hearts out. You forget teenagers just need a place to go. They want somewhere fun, we want somewhere safe and affordable. Here, they not only get this but they can meet new local kids and get some exercise!

United Skates has lots of party packages. They all include admission and skate rentals, private tables, paper goods, plus a special trip to the DJ Booth and spin on the prize wheel for the birthday child! The packages get better from there including food, drinks, glow items, arcade cards, and favors. Plus they have all kind is themes!

Besides birthdays they offer amazing fundraising options that give your donors a great event to attend!

They also have (family friendly and adult only) open skating sessions all week plus a full calendar of theme days, promotions, classes (like Skaterobics!), and more.

There is nothing like an old school roller skating party, except one reimagined for today! It is a guaranteed good time for the kids, and a trip right back to your childhood for adults.
