Schannon Love is a creative entrepreneur, cancer advocate and community leader whose life reflects resilience, faith and purposeful impact. She is also a proud alumna of Florida A&M University’s School of Journalism & Graphic Communication.

At 41, Schannon received a life-altering diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, a rare blood cancer. Rather than allowing the diagnosis to define her, she transformed it into a renewed commitment to live intentionally and serve others with deeper purpose. For eight years, she has navigated ongoing treatment with grace and courage, modeling perseverance rooted in faith.

Professionally, Schannon thrives as a communications expert specializing in graphic design. Her creative vision and strategic storytelling have made her a trusted voice in visual communication.

She has also expanded her entrepreneurial reach as a floral curator, designing meaningful and emotionally resonant experiences that transform life’s milestones into lasting memories.

Beyond her career, Schannon is a national advocate for blood cancer patients. Drawing from her lived experience, she serves as a panelist and advocate for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, raising awareness, influencing research conversations and amplifying patient voices. Her advocacy advances the push for more equitable and effective treatments while offering hope and representation to others navigating similar journeys.

Her leadership extends into community service as Event Lead for the Arts & Letters Committee of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Detroit Alumnae Chapter, where she provides creative direction for cultural programming that educates and uplifts.

Above all, Schannon is a devoted mother. Her daughter, a high school senior, and her son, a sophomore at Morehouse College, inspire her advocacy and strength.

In honoring Schannon Love during Women’s History Month, we celebrate a FAMU alumna who exemplifies courage and creativity.
