Stargazing dreams: Captured the ethereal beauty of the Pelican Nebula through my 5” refractor telescope.

The Pelican Nebula, also known as IC 5070, is a striking emission nebula located in the constellation Cygnus, about 1,800 light-years away from Earth. It gets its name from its distinctive shape, which resembles a pelican. This nebula is a region of active star formation, with young stars illuminating the surrounding gas and dust, causing it to glow brightly. The Pelican Nebula is part of a larger complex that includes the North America Nebula (NGC 7000), separated by a dark molecular cloud. Rich in hydrogen gas, the nebula’s vivid red can b displayed clearly with an H-alpha filter.
