Florida State had the luxury of bringing back wide receivers such as Duce Robinson, Micahi Danzy, and Jayvan Boggs in 2026.

Head coach Mike Norvell will have the responsibility of play-calling duties, after offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn unexpectedly retired this offseason.

The Seminoles will be welcoming in a new quarterback to the offense in 2026, which could further complicate the situation with the pass catchers. However, the main attraction to the scheme is the ability to establish the running game and set up easier passing windows for the signal-callers.

Florida State will have other pass catchers that they could rely on in the roster, such as Tae’Shaun Gelsey, Teriq Mallory, Devin Carter, Jaden Lopez, EJ White, Darryon Williams, and Jonah Winston.

Gelsey is someone that the coaching staff brought in last year as a four-star prospect from Jacksonville, Florida. He has the frame at 6’4” and 235 pounds to overwhelm opposing defensive backs and linebackers with giving the offense a serious threat in the red zone, which is a territory that they struggled with in the back half of the 2025 season.

Regardless of who grabbed the opportunity, assistant coach Tim Harris Jr. has done a nice job with developing and recruiting the room for the future of the program. 👀 #GoNoles #fsufootball #taeshaungelsey #fsuwidereceivers #timharrisjr
