Watch out, Broadway — #JinkxMonsoon is comin' to town! The #RPDR alum is making history as the first draq queen to star in the role on Broadway. She's making her debut in 'Chicago' as the legendary Matron "Mama" Morton. If you're thinking there's never been a role more perfect for her, join the club. After all, the first number she performed in drag was the musical's hit "All That Jazz," so like us, she feels landing the role is "almost too serendipitous," as she told EntertainmentWeekly. "I cannot stress enough that this has been a lifelong dream of mine," Jinkx told the outlet. "To be making my Broadway debut, as my favorite role, in one of my favorite shows — that lifelong dream is coming true and then some," Jinkx confessed. The iconic production has been carving a path for historic firsts in the queer community. Recently, #AngelicaRoss, who played the role of Roxie Hart, became the first openly trans woman to play the leading role on Broadway. Jinkx's 8-week run in 'Chicago' will kick off on Monday, January 16, 2023, and will run through Sunday, March 12. Here's to Hecate!
