Strap yourself in and hold on tight, because there’s about to be a new #TimeLord behind the wheel of the #TARDIS. netflix #SexEducation star ncutigatwa will be the next actor to take on the iconic role of The Doctor on BBC’s #DoctorWho when the new season premieres in 2023. Gatwa will be the 14th actor and first Black man to assume the role. “There aren’t quite the words to describe how I’m feeling. A mix of deeply honoured, beyond excited and of course a little bit scared,” Gatwa said in a statement. “This role and show means so much to so many around the world, including myself, and each one of my incredibly talented predecessors has handled that unique responsibility and privilege with the utmost care.” Gatwa is most known to international audiences for playing Eric Effiong, a gay student and voice of reason to costar #AsaButterfield's character on ‘Sex Education,’ which soon to enter its fourth season of production.
