A true Canadian icon is getting his flowers. 🇨🇦✨

Scarborough's own Mike Myers will receive the Academy Icon Award at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards, recognizing his lasting impact on film and television at home and around the world.

From Wayne Campbell to Austin Powers and the voice of Shrek, Myers has created some of the most unforgettable characters of a generation. 

In addition to the Icon Award, the Canadian Academy announced the rest of their special honourees this morning. 

Executive director of the Canadian Film Center, maxine bailey, will receive the Changemaker Award; Sportsnet reporter Hazel Mae will receive the Gordon Sinclair Award for Broadcast Journalism; and Chandler Levack’s film 'Mile End Kicks' will be honoured with the Sustainable Production Award (which recognizes a Canadian production that has demonstrated leadership, innovation, excellent performance, and commitment to integrating sustainable production practices).

The Canadian Screen Awards will be simulcast on Sunday, May 31 at 8:00 PM ET on Crave, CBC, CBC Gem, CTV, Global, and STACKTV.
