I installed a Schenker Zen 30 watermaker so I can make my own fresh water during my nonstop circumnavigation. This means drilling holes in my boat and trusting I don't create future leaks. Somewhere between hoses and 5200, I also threw my back out… but we’re one step closer to leaving land behind.

In September 2026 I will begin a 30,000 mile solo nonstop circumnavigation of the planet aboard my 1998 Pacific Seacraft 40, "Phoenix do Mar", meaning Phoenix of the Sea in Portuguese. Departing from Port Townsend, Washington, this voyage will cross the world’s most remote oceans in one continuous passage and take up to eight months to complete. Follow along as I prepare for departure and attempt one of the greatest challenges in sailing.
