Jamarcus Mosley, a 22-year-old Mobile man, pleaded guilty to charges of computer fraud, extortion and cyberstalking.

Mosley coerced hundreds of young victims by seizing their social media accounts and threatening to leak their private images unless they sent explicit material and/or money.

Between at least April 2022 and May 2025, Mosley devised a scheme to hijack social media accounts like Snapchat and Instagram belonging to hundreds of young victims, including minors.

In one incident, Mosley tricked a 17-year-old Illinois girl into giving him full access to her Snapchat account. He then used that account to message another victim’s 13-year-old sister about her known location.

Sentencing for Mosley is scheduled for May 27 at 2 p.m. before U.S. District Judge Michael L. Brown. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alex R. Sistla is prosecuting the case.
