Khady Leye delivered in the final moments, sinking the go-ahead layup with 5.2 seconds remaining to lift No. 15 seed Auburn to a dramatic 50–49 win over No. 10 seed Texas A&M in the first round of the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament on Wednesday night in Greenville, South Carolina. The clutch basket capped a back-and-forth finish and secured Auburn’s first postseason tournament victory over the Aggies.

Kaitlyn Duhon led the Tigers (15–16) with 14 points, while Harissoum Coulibaly added 11. Leye finished with 11 points and a dominant 15 rebounds, playing a pivotal role on both ends of the floor. With Auburn trailing late, Texas A&M’s Janae Kent knocked down two free throws with 11 seconds left to give the Aggies a 49–48 lead. On the ensuing possession, Leye slipped past a screen and drove to the basket for the decisive layup that put Auburn back in front.

Texas A&M (14–12) had one final opportunity, but the Aggies were unable to get a clean look at the basket as their last-second attempt fell short. Ny’Ceara Pryor paced the Aggies with a game-high 25 points in the narrow defeat.

The victory snapped Texas A&M’s five-game winning streak and sends Auburn into the second round of the tournament. The Tigers will face No. 24 Ole Miss, the No. 7 seed, on Thursday.
