🚀 We’re helping build the policy foundations for Cambodia’s future in space.

This week in Siem Reap, UNOOSA brought together 112 stakeholders from across the Cambodian government and experts from Australia🇦🇺, France🇫🇷, Japan🇯🇵, Kenya🇰🇪, the Philippines🇵🇭 and Singapore🇸🇬 to explore what a future national space policy for Cambodia🇰🇭 could look like.

Why does this matter? Because space is not just about rockets and astronauts — it is also about the rules, institutions and plans countries need to use space responsibly and in ways that support development on Earth.

Through UNOOSA’s Global Space Law Project, we help countries build that foundation by strengthening understanding of international space law and supporting the development of national space law and policy.

🛰️ Discussions covered global space governance, space treaties, national policy roadmaps and the use of space data for development.

One workshop highlight: a scenario-based exercise where participants stress-tested policy choices, clarified roles across government and discussed Cambodia’s national priorities for space activities.
