Downtown “has moved from recovery to rising” as the NFL Draft approaches.

That was the message from Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership President and CEO Jeremy Waldrup Thursday night as many of Downtown Pittsburgh’s most influential advocates gathered for a wide-ranging conversation about the corridor.

With fewer than 50 days left until the NFL’s marquee event, PDP and local officials, including the mayor and county executive, said they feel prepared for the spotlight. The real question, they said, is what happens when it ends. 

“Conversions, infrastructure improvements and a broader rethinking of how Downtown is used, and who Downtown is used for, are all shaping our future,” Mr. Waldrip said.
