Thai Floyd is a trailblazing sports broadcaster whose voice is helping shape the future of HBCU athletics. Making history as the full-time play-by-play voice for Alabama A&M University football, Thai became the first woman to hold the role full-time at an HBCU football program, calling the action with authority, insight, and a deep love for the game.

A proud graduate of Florida A&M University’s School of Journalism & Graphic Communication, Thai has built a career rooted in amplifying the stories, traditions, and excellence that define HBCU sports. Her work stretches across some of the most prominent platforms in sports media, delivering live coverage and storytelling through HBCU GO, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, and digital outlets including Andscape and HBCU Legends.

Whether behind the microphone or behind the story, Thai brings the culture of HBCU athletics to life. Her reporting has included coverage of major college football postseason events such as the Celebration Bowl, Pop-Tarts Bowl, and Cheez-It Bowl, where she has helped spotlight the athletes, traditions, and pageantry that make college football a uniquely powerful cultural experience.

Thai's connection to Tallahassee runs deep. Her father, William Floyd, is a former Florida State Seminoles fullback, National Champion, and Hall of Fame inductee, while her mother also attended Florida A&M University. Together, the two storied institutions legacies helped shape her appreciation of storytelling, community, and the enduring power of HBCU pride.
