This is part of recovery after brain surgery #11.

A surgical drain is placed after the operation to remove excess fluid and prevent pressure from building in the skull. A few days later, it gets removed — which is exactly what you’re seeing here.

It’s a strange feeling knowing there’s literally a tube coming out of your head… but this step means the healing process is moving in the right direction.

Recovery from brain surgery is slow, unpredictable, and very real. I’m documenting it so people can see what it actually looks like.
