After one Carnival with carnivaltribe and I somehow left Trinidad with 3 Trini husbands (yes, they ALL cook and dance), 12 new aunties, 47 cousins, the best Carnival of my life, a costume I’ll be wearing every month for no reason, and 8 pounds of happy weight that I regret absolutely nothing about.

This was my FIRST Carnival of MANY and I genuinely cannot see myself playing mas in Trinidad with anybody but TRIBE. 10/10...I recommend. The energy? Unmatched. The vibes? Elite. The organization? Chef’s kiss. I have sooo much to share with those of you interested in playing mas next year...stay tuned!

And you already know I didn’t just show up for the road. Outside the festivities, I immersed myself into plate after plate. I ate EVERYTHING then Ate again. I also really enjoyed the culture and took it all in! Trust me, I’m sharing all of that too because when I say I had a TRIBE TIME, I mean I conducted serious research for your next Carnival experience using myself as the guinea pig.

Mark your calendars for 2027: February 8th and 9th. But now that I apparently have an official Trini family (and husbands), I’ll probably be flying in a little sooner.
