Raegan Beers scored 18 points and added seven rebounds, Aaliyah Chavez poured in 17 points, and No. 7 Oklahoma used a dominant third quarter to defeat Florida 82–64 in the second round of the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament on Thursday in Greenville, South Carolina. The Sooners pulled away after halftime with a decisive surge to advance to the quarterfinals.

Zya Vann added 14 points and Brooklyn Stewart chipped in 12 for Oklahoma (24–6), which has now won seven straight games. The Sooners forced 24 turnovers and held Florida to 36 percent shooting as they gradually took control of the game.

Florida (18–15) stayed within striking distance in the first half, trailing just 40–38 at the break while Oklahoma’s Raegan Beers sat out the entire second quarter with foul trouble. Liv McGill led the Gators with 28 points, converting 13-of-17 free throws to keep Florida close.

Beers returned in the third quarter and Oklahoma immediately seized momentum, opening the half with a 14–2 run. The Sooners dominated the period, outscoring Florida 27–7 behind eight points from Vann to break the game open. Oklahoma later stretched the lead to 25 in the fourth quarter, highlighted by Beers stepping outside to knock down a 3-pointer — a rare shot for the center — as she surpassed 2,000 career points.

Florida now awaits its NCAA Tournament fate, while Oklahoma advances to face No. 6 LSU, the tournament’s No. 4 seed, in Friday’s quarterfinals at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
