The Battle for LA went to another level! The #1 ranked Sierra Canyon Trailblazers faced off against the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines at the Toyota Arena in Ontario for the most prestigious crown in SoCal: the CIF Southern Section Open Division Championship.

It was a defensive battle from the jump, with Sierra Canyon holding a 31-20 lead at halftime. Harvard-Westlake came out swinging in the second half, cutting the lead to just one possession late in the 4th quarter after a clutch three-pointer by Texas commit Joe Sterling. But in the end, the Trailblazers’ star power and grit proved too much, securing a 59-53 victory and their first Open Division title since 2020.

Brannon Martinsen (Sierra Canyon): 18 points (Game High)

Brandon McCoy (Sierra Canyon): 13 points

Maxi Adams (Sierra Canyon): 12 points

Joe Sterling (Harvard-Westlake): Clutch shooting down the stretch to keep the Wolverines alive.

This win pushes Sierra Canyon to an incredible 27-1 record as they head into the State Regionals as the #1 seed.
