50 years ago, BMW Motorrad made history at daytona by winning the first AMA Superbike race on the Butler & Smith R 90 S.

Today, we travel back and celebrate this amazing achievement. For the first time since that win, the three original championship R 90 S motorcycles ridden by Reg Pridmore, Steve McLaughlin, and Gary Fisher return together to Daytona International Speedway.

A full circle victory lap 50 years in the making — but the story doesn't end there. n8.kern continues the tradition of BMW innovation this weekend, taking a race spec’d R 1300 R to the grid in the motoamerica superhooligans class.
