Do you know the lore between Lil Wayne and Cristiano Ronaldo? 😭👇

Back in 2013, Wayne ended up getting involved with a sports management group called Polaris Sports, which at the time was connected to Ronaldo’s representation. Through that relationship, Wayne reportedly purchased a small stake in Ronaldo’s economic rights during the tail end of the “third-party ownership” era in football, when outside investors could own percentages of a player’s future transfer value.

So for a brief moment, one of the biggest rappers in the world technically had a financial stake in one of the greatest footballers ever ⚽️

The practice was later banned by FIFA in 2015, which ended deals like that across the sport. But the story stuck around as one of those strange moments where hip-hop, global football, and business all crossed paths in a way nobody expected.
