It’s finally time for the grand reveal! I’m not even sorry it took three posts to announce, because this trip is far too special to be casual about.

Several of you guessed it: the reason I was in Paris was to board the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express... something I’ve dreamed about doing for years!

Long before planes or private jets, this was the most glamorous way to travel through Europe. Royalty, cultural icons and fascinating characters have all passed through these carriages over the decades. I kept thinking the whole time… if only these walls could talk!

What makes it even more incredible is how thoughtfully everything has been preserved. The Art Deco carriages, the Lalique glass, the tiny details everywhere you look. It feels frozen in time, but never tired.

And the glamour is very much alive. The dress code is “fabulous.”
Tuxedos, formal gowns and no such thing as overdressed.

You might be on a moving train, but you’re enjoying multi-course gourmet meals with exceptional wines in these immaculate dining cars. And while it may sound formal, it’s not stuffy at all. At some point the piano bar turns into a full blown party. We were dancing and singing along until after 2am. I genuinely haven’t had that much fun since my wedding.

The journey is only about 26 hours, but it feels like stepping into another era entirely. It’s one of those rare experiences that you know you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
