## Caption

In 2017, the Yangtze finless porpoise count was a perilously low 1,012. Together with the Yangtze River Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Changjiang Conservation Foundation has worked tirelessly to protect and conserve this magnificent creature, and by 2022 that figure had risen to 1,249. Hope springs!
