#ad I am loving this campaign to get more girls outside from Persil wearedirtisgood and all the amazing childhood photos of athletes and role models young girls look up to! 

This message is so important, especially around International Women’s Day. Sport England’s recent survey revealed that girls are 22% less likely than boys to get outside out of school hours.

Getting outside matters. Play matters. And every girl deserves the freedom to explore, play and get a bit dirty - it’s how they grow! 

Muddy afternoons were some of my most treasured memories as a child - innocent exploration and pure joy. It’s so important for children to experience this enriched learning from a young age, and I feel this more than ever now, as a mum. 

I’m joining the movement, and I want to invite you to as well! Share a photo of you playing outside as a child using #ItStartsOutside, so we can help every young girl experience the joy and freedom that begins outdoors.
