Study Abroad Spotlight: Gaby Nieraeth ’27 – United Kingdom

Meet Gaby, a marketing and communication double major from Torrance, California, who is studying abroad this semester in London.

Gaby chose to study abroad with IES Abroad London after being drawn to the energy of a cosmopolitan city and a program that aligned closely with her academic goals.

This semester, she is taking courses in British film censorship and youth culture, the business of sports in Europe, and the history of London.

On a typical class day, Gaby commutes into the city on the Tube. After grabbing a quick bite, she often studies at the Senate House Library before heading home to cook dinner or meeting friends at a local pub.

One of her favorite parts of the experience has been how accessible travel is in Europe. She recently visited family in Amsterdam, a longtime dream, and is excited to explore more of the continent soon.

Gaby also loves how international London feels, with so many languages spoken across the city and neighborhoods that each have their own unique character. Even a short journey can feel like entering a completely new place.

Her advice to Trinity students considering studying abroad? “Do it.”

Beyond travel, Gaby values the quiet moments like spontaneous walks and conversations with strangers. Studying abroad has given her the space to explore her interests and learn more about herself.
