#JesseJacksonJr. is speaking out after memorial speeches honoring his father, the late Rev. #JesseJackson , by calling out remarks made by former presidents Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Joe Biden. ___________________________
Jackson Jr. said the leaders didn’t truly know his father, despite honoring his legacy. “I listened for several hours to three United States presidents who do not know Jesse Jackson,” he said. He also addressed his father’s complicated relationship with the political establishment, adding, “He maintained a tense relationship with the political order not because the presidents were white or Black, but because the demands of our message required more than Democratic or Republican solutions.” ___________________________
During the service, Obama seemingly called out President Donald Trump, saying, “Every day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions.”Bill Clinton called Jackson a friend and recalled their conversation during his impeachment.
