SCOOTER SCARE: Residents in a Hackensack apartment building woke up to fire alarms after an e‑scooter burst into flames. Fire officials say it was quickly unplugged, taken outside and the flames did not spread.

They say the scooter was plugged into the wrong charger. Hazmat crews safely disposed of the charred lithium‑ion battery.
