If you’ve been around our SIF community for a while, you’ve heard me talk about our core mission:

Elevating women’s stories and giving YOU the tools, resources, and community you need to succeed.

I have been talking about the power of storytelling - and specifically, women being given a platform to share their life experiences and lift others, for what feels like forever!

I founded SIF in 2015 - before the #MeToo movement took off, before#BossBabes became a thing, and before we had a corporate leadership shift into seeking greater female representation.

I am a little embarrassed to say that just a few years ago, I questioned whether SIF was still needed in its current form. It seemed like there were so many great women’s resources out there, and I started wondering if it was time to shift my own focus…

Not away from our community or supporting women, but to encompass more of the educational, cultural, and social impact goals that matter the most to me and, I believe, to many of you.

I started thinking about how we could keep our core mission, but adapt in recognition that there was such a groundswell of other resources - and, I believed at the time, a shift in the right direction.

A few years later, it seems clear that there is still so much more work to be done - and I hope that I, and we, can make a dent in women’s wellbeing… within our community and beyond.

I am reminded, as we celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, how far we have come… and how quickly progress can be diminished when we stop moving forward through positive, meaningful action.

For some, the action we take may be global in scale, for others, it is regional, local, or even just within our own neighborhoods, churches, and families.

But remember that:

"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about."
