The country's Net International Reserves (NIR) remain strong, standing at US$6.8 billion as at January 31, 2026, according to Finance Minister Fayval Williams

Williams made the disclosure in Parliament this afternoon as she opened the 2026/2027 Budget Debate.
 
It equates to 36.1 weeks of goods and services imports, three times the international benchmark of 12 weeks of imports and provides a solid buffer in the case of a major shock.
