Meatball:

2 slices day-old white bread

½ cup heavy cream

1 teaspoon butter

1 onion, minced

1 pound ground beef

.5 pounds finely ground pork

2 large eggs

salt and pepper 

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon ground allspice

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, or as needed

2 cups beef broth, or as needed

worcestershire to taste

Pickled Cucumbers:

2 large cucumber
2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
1 cup distilled white vinegar
1 cup water
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon black peppercorns
1 teaspoon coarse salt

Mash:

2.5lbs yukon gold potatoes
salt, butter, cream to taste
