I strive to support, contribute to, and celebrate the prominent culture in Black communities. sankofadc is a pillar and safespace in the DC area that exemplifies the meaning of community and has done so for many years. Even when “Chocolate City” started losing its brown tint, Sankofa Films, Videos, & Books stood strong. I visited them a few months back when I returned to the DMV area and the feeling of being represented enveloped me when I walked through the doors. I felt *seen*. Thank you for seeing me sankofadc 🖤
