I’m not sure how many of you all know this about me, but I’m also an actress.

My friend nadejbailey and I worked on Selma movie together and we recently hoped to be working on another upcoming project together. 🤞🏾 However, she booked, and I didn’t. That’s the truth of the matter and the nature of the beast when it comes to this industry. It is riddled with rejection and thick skin is a must have if you want to survive and thrive. Thankfully, my mother has always instilled in me that “what’s for you will not pass you by.” .

It’s humbling having to trust the process, but the growth that comes with that is a beautiful thing. Wanting this role will not be the only thing in life that I’ll want, but won’t be for me. But the earlier that I learn to trust in my journey, the better off I’ll be...the easier rejection will be to digest and utilize as fuel to project me further to my next goal..

Disappointments and rejection will happen in life. You cannot avoid it, trust me I’ve tried 😬😂, but sharing these experiences makes me human. I know so many of us share the perfectly curated and celebratory moments, but I’m here to humanize the gram - show the guts and the glory 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’ve been knowing Nadej for a minute now, and every single time we cross paths, she is her sweet genuine self, through and through. Her kind spirit has a way of lighting up the room and placing a smile on your face. She has a pretty extensive acting background too and one that you should check out and take a look at to support her projects..

I guess the moral of my story here is that when you find your tribe, you celebrate them and their accomplishments. Me celebrating her doesn’t extinguish nor diminish my light. Too many believe that celebrating others wins, make our losses more prominent and I’m here to say that is FAR from the truth. I wouldn’t be a real one if I didn’t want the absolute best for her. She is so deserving of all of her accomplishments. Now Nadej, go do your thing and knock their socks off, I’m rooting for you sis!! 🥳 And let me know how Kraft is! 😝 xo
