Hands down one of my FAVE films!!! These are the films nearest and dearest to my heart. As an actress, I want to be cast for rolls of substance such as these. I never want to play a role to simply play a role. I want substance, depth, something with a little "meat and potatoes" to it. This film touched on an underdog all black debate team that faced adversity as they dealt with racism, internal demons, defeat but came out winning! This is an inspiring and affirming film based on a true story about defying the odds. It was also a pleasure meeting blackmouf who played James Farmer Jr. in the movie.
