We must make ourselves aware of the past, to unapologetically acknowledge the future. As you already know, here at Black Vibe Tribe, we pay homage to and celebrate the blood, sweat and tears of our ancestors, our rich history, our people and culture 365 days a year. Today I’d like to garner your attention and take note of the awe-inspiring youth deriving from the African Diaspora that are creating global change and further positively impacting and progressing our community. Let us not only take pride in our history, but also our future.

These are the words of 17 year old student activist, author, and blackgirlsrock M.A.D Black Girl award recipient, Chanice A. Lee (chanicealee). I had the pleasure of engaging with Chanice and discussing her contributions to society, including publishing her novel "Young Revolutionary: A Teen's Guide to Activism", her journey in activism, and her fight for the freedom and liberation of her people.
