Alex Burghart has hit back at claims Sir Keir Starmer was "lied to" by Peter Mandelson, calling it "nonsense."

It comes as the government release the so-called Mandelson files.

Speaking in the House of Commons, the Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster said: "The Prime Minister claims that he was lied to. He wasn't lied to by this due diligence document... And we're supposed to believe that the Prime Minister, who was once the chief prosecutor in this country, couldn't see through this nonsense. It beggars belief."
