Most sales onboarding fails before reps ever sell.

Not because the content is bad.

Because the structure is unclear.

When new reps join your team, they’re trying to answer three questions:
Who are we selling to?
What are we selling?
How do we actually sell it?

If your onboarding doesn’t clearly answer those, ramp time slows down fast.

One structure that works well is simple: an 8-module onboarding path.

Module 1: Your ICP. Who you sell to and why they buy.
Module 2: Your offer. The problem you solve and how you solve it.

Then the rest of the training walks through each stage of your sales process.

For example: lead generation, cold outreach, discovery, and the rest of the pipeline.

I’ve seen teams struggle for months because reps understood the product but not the process.

Once the training was organized by sales stages, ramp time improved almost immediately.

Do this today:
Write down the exact stages of your sales process and map one short training module to each.

Clarity speeds up execution.

How structured is your current sales onboarding?

Also, if you want more practical ways to build high-performing sales teams, we host a free weekly webinar every Thursday at 11am MST / 1pm EST.
