After dropping out of high school at 18, first-gen student Thomas O'Malley spent two decades in retail management. At 39, he decided to enroll at pennstateworldcampus. He's currently pursuing dual bachelor's degrees in Labor and Human Resources and Organizational Leadership through pennstateler, is carrying a 3.9 grade-point average, and was just accepted into grad school.

"Being first-gen is not just about being the first in my family to attend college—it's about rewriting the story of what's possible," he says.
