On the evening of March 10, 2026, AccuWeather Meteorologist and storm chaser Tony Laubach witnessed "ginormous" hail in Kankakee, Illinois, with a diameter more than 5 inches, which would break the Illinois State Record of 4.25 inches set in 2015.
