Brazilian actress Tânia Maria, who made waves with her role as Dona Sebastiana in the award-winning film “The Secret Agent,” is just getting started in her career at 79 years old. Despite having only around 11 minutes onscreen, her performance as the no-nonsense grandmother and sanctuary host stole the show and made her a fan-favorite of international critics and audiences. She’s come a long way from weaving rugs in her hometown in northeast Brazil, and according to her, she has six film appearances lined up for 2026.
