Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida!

As soon as my space (and JFK) obsessed family learned we were stopping at Port Canaveral on our cruise, we knew we had to spend the day at the kennedyspacecenter 

Our action packed day was filled with walking through giant rockets from NASA’s Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs in their Rocket Garden.

🚀Visiting Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex focusing on the present and future of collaborative space exploration including the Space X and Blue Origin New Shepard crew capsules.

🧑‍🚀The Heroes & Legends pavilion which offered us a cool trip through history including the US Astronaut Hall of Fame and a big photo of the Challenger crew - a pivotal memory from my childhood.

🚀A tour of the Apollo/Saturn V Center which pays homage to the people and machines that made our race to the moon possible including a rocket launch sequence experience in the actual room where people sat for the Apollo launch! It finished with a walk under the gigantic Saturn V, the largest rocket ever flown. And it is huge! I also loved touching a moon rock here and all the cool space souvenirs brought back from the expeditions.

🏗️Not only was this tour cool but we got to see important buildings NASA uses to build rockets as well as Artemis II - which is the 1st manned space craft heading to the moon since 1972 - on the launch pad for wet dress rehearsal (WDR) tests and her impending launch into space in the next few months.

🔭We also loved seeing the ​Space Shuttle Atlantis and finishing our day with the Shuttle Launch Experience ride.

This was an amazing excursion filled with interactive exhibits, hands on learning, and non stop fun. I can see why the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a top-ranked attraction and rated a Best of the Best Things To Do by the Travelers’ Choice Awards.

If you’re cruising to Florida, equally obsessed with the movie Interstellar, or just visiting the area, definately check out the KSC!
