Phil Penman loves those early hours. The moment before the city becomes loud. “That’s exactly my mood,” he says. Fog, low light, an almost mystical calm – this is where his images are born. Not planned, not staged. He walks. Observes. Waits.⁣

It was in this same spirit that he took the new Noctilux-M 35mm to the thick fog of Biel/Bienne for its first intensive test. "With this lens, I can shoot in even lower light without compromising on quality," he explains. "On the contrary—it is incredible what it brings out."⁣
