“Redemption,” the newest action-crime drama from Las Vegas filmmaker Asif Akbar(asifakbar_filmmaker), brings together a powerhouse ensemble led by Billy Zane, Frank Stallone, Jon Lovitz, Robert Davi, Jon Lemmon, Jamie King, Kelly Reiter, Joseph D’Onofrio, Weston Coppola Cage, Nicolas Petroccione, and Isaac C. Singleton Jr. The film split its production between Las Vegas and Cleveland, Ohio, capturing both the neon grit of the desert and the industrial edge of the Midwest, set during the mid 1980s as mob infrastructure was beginning to unravel. In Vegas, the team immersed itself in real history, shooting on Fremont Street and inside authentic mafia-owned homes from the 1970s and ’80s—locations steeped in the kind of storied past no set could ever recreate. With principal photography now officially wrapped, “Redemption” emerges as a gritty, character-driven thriller shaped by two atmospheric cities and elevated by a cast whose range, energy, and presence bring Akbar’s vision to life.
