Everyone meet Shea! 👋

Shea is a junior sports communication major from Montclair, NJ. Follow along on Stories to learn more about his involvement with Clemson’s Paralympic soccer team and Team USA. 🐾

1. Why did you choose Clemson? 🐅

“I chose Clemson to be a part of the Clemson Paralympic soccer program, which is one of the first Paralympic soccer scholarship opportunities in the United States. I wanted to help grow the program for the next generation of kids with cerebral palsy and show the world that being a college athlete is possible no matter someone’s disability.”

Fondest memory? ✨

“My fondest memory so far at Clemson would likely be my sophomore year attending the Clemson versus Wake Forest football game. It was my first gathering at the Paw since it was not allowed during my freshman year due to the pandemic. It was also one of the times that I truly felt what it meant to be a Clemson Tiger.”

3. What is the most rewarding part about being an athlete and member of Team USA? 🧡

“The best part about being a member of Team USA as well as Clemson’s Paralympic soccer program is when I see younger kids with cerebral palsy or other disabilities become interested in or play soccer because of my story. I did not have any role models with cerebral palsy growing up, so I do my best to be someone these kids can look up to so that they have the belief that they can do anything. Any time I hear a child with CP or any disability tell me they play soccer because of me, it makes every hardship I’ve ever had worth it.”
