Each month, I share five CPD resources that have stood out to me - practical learning that supports us in the realities of modern general practice. Here are my Top 5 for this month. I hope these resources support you in your practice this month.

1️⃣ Appraisal deepdive

Appraisal and revalidation can feel daunting, especially when guidance evolves. I’ve chosen this because understanding the process properly makes it far less stressful. It helps you clearly demonstrate reflective practice and supports your responsible officer in recommending you for GMC revalidation - reassurance that you remain up to date and fit to practise. ⤵️ https://www.rcgp.org.uk/your-career/revalidation/appraisal-deep-dive

2️⃣ UK Medical Eligibility Criteria (UKMEC)

In busy clinics, we often need quick, reliable answers. UKMEC provides clear, evidence-based guidance on contraceptive safety for patients with different health conditions. I value this resource because it supports confident, consistent and safe decision-making at the point of care. ➡️https://elearning.rcgp.org.uk/blog/index.php?entryid=79

3️⃣ Safer workspaces

We all feel the pressure in primary care. This short module resonated with me because high-quality patient care depends on safe, sustainable working environments. Protecting ourselves and our teams is not optional, it’s essential for patient safety and long-term workforce wellbeing. ➡️ https://elearning.rcgp.org.uk/course/view.php?id=1234

4️⃣ Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

IBS is something we see frequently in practice. I chose this podcast because it refreshes knowledge in an accessible way, with insights from a GP with a specialist interest. It’s a useful reminder of how to recognise, diagnose and manage IBS confidently in primary care. ⤵️ https://elearning.rcgp.org.uk/course/view.php?id=1239

5️⃣ Squint in babies

Sometimes small learning makes a lifelong difference. Early recognition of squint can prevent amblyopia and permanent visual loss. I picked this screencast because it’s short, practical and could genuinely change outcomes for a child. ⤵️https://elearning.rcgp.org.uk/course/view.php?id=226#coursecontentcollapse1
