Fool’s spring in New York happened earlier this week, and the taste of warmer weather we got was tantalizing. As we anticipate what’s to come, could there be a better way to greet the blooming season than to visit the nearly 70 art shows we’ve compiled in our biannual guide?

From the art world moments everyone’s buzzing about to exhibitions that reframe art history in strange, rich ways, shows in New York this spring examine and reimagine what it means to live — each offering something to happen upon, linger over, carry home.
