[ The Black shouldered Kite hunts with controlled speed and precision.
From a hover or low glide, it drops sharply toward the grass.
During the stoop, it can reach speeds of around 50 to 60 km per hour.
The wings stay partly open to control descent and direction.
Sharp vision helps it detect small mammals even through dense grass.
The strike lasts less than a second. ]
