Ashvir Singh Johal Becomes First Sikh Manager in British Football at Morecambe FC ⚽️

I’m absolutely over the moon for ashvirjohal on his appointment as the new manager of morecambefc .. I’ve known Ashvir personally and knew he was set to take the helm, but seeing it confirmed is a proud moment for him and for all of us who care about representation in the game.

Ashvir is an exciting young British coach with real pedigree. He’s worked alongside the likes of Cesc Fàbregas, Brendan Rodgers and Kolo Touré, learning from some of the best minds in football. Last year he won the Premier League Academy Award at the asianfootballawards .. recognition of the impact he was already making.

Now, as the first Sikh to manage a British professional football club, Ashvir is breaking new ground. For South Asians in football this is progress we’ve been pushing for, and for the Sikh community it offers a visible role model that many will be inspired by.

Morecambe’s new Sikh ownership panjabwarriorsofficial adds to the significance of this moment. It shows real commitment from within the community to back the game not only at boardroom level but also in leadership on the touchline.

The club has been through difficult times with the old ownership, but this feels like a fresh chapter. I wish Ashvir and Morecambe every success. The future looks bright.
